Mrs Haigh was related by marriage to F B Haigh, who was the half-brother of her husband ‘Colonel’ G T Haigh.
In October 1892 Mrs Haigh was in court as debtor in a case brought by one Richard Griffith, draper and grocer of Llanbedr for a debt, for which judgment had been obtained the previous July, of £21 17s. 4d. for ironmongery goods. In evidence it was stated that a take note for Foel Wen Manganese Mine had been granted to Ellis Pritchard and Ellis Richards in 1888 and an assignment had been made in 1889 by Richards to Mrs Haigh. Also, a lease to Mrs Haigh had been granted by the Crown in 1889. Judgement was given for the plaintiff. [Cambrian News 8/10/1892 p. 4]
