This mine is listed by Wilkinson [2003: 14454], however, its identification may be erroneous. Wilkinson refers to GAS CAO: XS/1608/39 and 40, which are catalogued at Caernarfon Archive Office as “Photographs of manganese mine near Trawsfynydd”. However, the reverse of one of the photographs carries the annotation “Disused manganese quarry on the Blaen Ffg - Portmadoc light railway – near Tanygresiau” and the location of the photographs has been identified as Moelwyn mine. The conclusion is that there was no manganese mine at Trawfynydd.
